Caleb Severance GK ICON: Columbus
Christine does such a great job! I have been taking her training sessions for six weeks now and I can tell that all of her help is causing me to become a better goalkeeper. She is committed and passionate about the sport of soccer and more specifically, goalkeeping. Even with some physical inabilities during the sessions, she still made sure we were able to have sessions by bringing in guest coaches which was great as well! It was an overall great, productive experience and hope to participate in more sessions to come!

Christine is a fantastic coach! I had the opportunity to train by her side for many years. Her passion and knowledge of the position helped myself and others to improve our skills and abilities as keepers! I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking to improve their skills and pursue a career as a keeper!

I have known Christine for six years now, and I have to say she is one of the best people I have ever met. She is such a genuine girl and her heart is for soccer. One of the most memorable moments with her was when she made three saves simultaneously at a camp at Ohio State University! She is such an outstanding goalkeeper and her perseverance, knowledge of the game, and kind heart are what help her to do so well. She always puts others before herself; it is in her nature, and she will never fail to serve her clients.

My son has been attending GK Icon coaching with Joel Canning for a number of months now. The progress he has made in his goal-keeping is amazing - and just as importantly he has great fun and the coaching is the highlight of his week. Superb coaching and a great ethos. I highly recommend it!

Any aspiring goalkeepers looking to develop a fun, personal and professional relationship with a dedicated coach who is committed to the GK Union then Gareth is your man. Having spent 6 months last season with him, he tailored each session to prioritise my strengths and weaknesses . This provided me with the platform to play with confidence and subsequently go on to win player of the season

Our son has been playing for Berkhamsted Raiders in an U10 team; he joined last year, having initially been taught and enthused at school by Steve McHugh. Through Steve and his encouragement, praise of his efforts and enthusiasm, he became increasingly interested in football and more specifically in taking a Goalkeeping position whenever possible. Although happy to be outfield, having significantly developed his all-round skill-set with Steve, a year later our sons wish to hold onto his place as Goalie has not altered or faltered. His determination to continue seriously as a Goalie encouraged us to look for training opportunities specific to the position and through word of mouth and the linkage with Raiders, we found out about Joel Canning and his training. He first attended a Challenger Sports goalkeeping session in the school holiday and thereafter was authorised to join the Raiders under 11s session 6-7pm on alternate Tuesday evenings, and has found Joels coaching motivational and extremely helpful in improving his goalkeeping ability. After each session Joel sends a personal e-mail to each parent, providing a clear and concise synopsis of what has been covered in the session with an overview of how each child has performed. Within Joels feedback he advises what he believes would be good to work on, along with an outline of the progress made and positive results witnessed in training. Our son reads this with intent and has tried to take the lessons learnings into his Saturday training and matches on a Sunday - his managers have been extremely pleased with his approach, along with the results ensued.

TinyTykes Party TINYTYKES: Basingstoke
Just wanted to say a massive thank you to Liam and Robbie for running a Tiny Tykes party for my five year old last weekend. The way you got him to demonstrate all the games to his friends made him feel very important and he and all his friends had a fantastic time. We also very much appreciated your assistance with the other elements as well, like the party games and handing out party bags and balloons, which helped the party to run smoothly. Highly recommend.

Fantastic GK session for the kids tonight. Alan and his team of pros were great with the kids coaching, training and passing on their knowledge. I recommend anyone wanting to learn how to be a GK to come along to Bedfont Sports Club on a Wednesday and join.

My son has just started goalkeeping coaching in Berkhamsted with Joel Canning. I am not usually moved to post reviews online, but in this case I am motivated to spread the word having seen how good these sessions are. Joel works very well with his class. He is enthusiastic and inclusive, and the kids respond well. What impressed me the most is that the children remain engaged for a full hour of coaching routines. That, to me, is the real testament of how good these classes are.

I got released from Tottenham at 16 years old after they didn\'t offer me a scholar. I went around to loads of different clubs on trial and got offered a contract by 3 clubs (QPR being one of these) I had to make a big decision, I based my decision on; which club I enjoyed the most being on trial, where I think I would develop the most and if I could see myself playing for their first team. The youth goalkeeping coach at QPR was Deano.

Deano was the reason why I enjoyed my time on trial, I thought that if I enjoy my time training everyday with Deano then I would learn and develop easily and therefore if I develop I had confidence that I would play for QPRs first team one day. I signed a 2 year scholarship for QPR so that took me up to 18 years old, over these 2 years training with Deano everyday there wasn\'t one session where I didn\'t learn anything and the only part of sessions that I didn\'t enjoy was when Deano would score against me and I would look up and he was celebrating! other than that I loved every minute of it!

Throughout my scholarship i got better and better as a goalkeeper and at the end of the 2 years I got offered a professional contract, this meant that now I was training with the first team goalkeeping coach and with the first team goalkeepers! I took what I learnt from Deano and worked hard everyday to impress them. In my second year of being a professional at 19 years old I went on loan to league 2 side Accrington Stanley and made my professional football league debut!  My third year was when I finally made my QPR first team debut, it was against Nottingham forest away in the 3rd round of the FA cup, although we lost 1-0, this was the proudest moment of my life! 3 days after this game I made my second appearance for QPR this time in the championship.

I am now on my 4th year of being a professional footballer and the aim is to become first choice goalkeeper for QPR and play week in week out. If it wasn\'t for Deano and his coaching I honestly don\'t think I would have achieved what I have and wouldn\'t be where I am today. He is one of the best coaches I have worked with, I still ask for advice from him when I see him and always know that he is going to be honest and do anything to help me!

AJ\'s Journey GK ICON: Coventry

\"My review of GK Icon and AJ journey.

AJ had a good first year in the u7s for Whitley Juniors as a GK and in the summer before the u8 season was going to start AJ broke his ankle and was out for 8 weeks and lost his confidence in GK and also he was joining a new team the Sphinx. So I heard good things about GK Icon Coventry and how Lee was great with the children so I took him for 1 to 1.

The first 1 to 1 with Lee.

He spoke to AJ at his level in a calm voice and always praising AJ for his efforts even when AJ was finding some stuff hard as he had lost confidence in GK.

Months went on and Lee was building up AJ confidence and delivering true enjoyment to GK, having lots of fun, never doing the same stuff always changing it up.
Lee was always in regular contact texting or having a chat and always asking after the weekend games how did AJ get on and would ask what do I think AJ struggles with and then he would do his thing in the next 1 to 1.

AJ was getting back to his normal self with GK and credit to Lee and AJ hard work. Walsall and Villa also Coventry invited AJ to train with them what was a crazy time for the family lol. In the end AJ wanted to sign for Coventry academy which its a great friendly atmosphere and a team he loves as well as Arsenal.

So a big thank you to Lee and GK Icon Coventry for helping my boy on his GK journey and may it continue.

If your son/daughter are looking for a GK coach. Then I highly recommend Lee GK Icon Coventry. Top bloke\"

As a coach I found his attention to detail to be one of the best I have worked with he picked up on technique faults I didn\'t know were there and coached me ways on how to improve them. He also puts on game realistic sessions which I noticed during matches . As a person Dominic was very friendly and approachable, but took goalkeeping very seriously which I enjoyed because I felt exactly the same and wanted to play and train everyday\" Josh Carpenter Ex Leicester city and Luton town YTS

Winter Training #3 GK ICON: Pittsburgh
"You can't get any better training for the price. Your training is truly priceless. Thank you Erik for providing an amazing training program for these kids. You truly are great at what you do. Winter Training GK ICON: Pittsburgh
Easily the best sports training I\'ve been associated with.  The curriculum was well thought out, executed and covered all aspects of goalkeeping.  The instructors made each training event applicable to each students capability and understanding of the position and the game.  Erik is an outstanding instructor.  His passion for the keeper\'s role and game in general is absolutely outstanding.  He can relate to each student no matter the age group or experience level.  I have NEVER had to ask my daughter twice to get ready for practice.  She would often remind me that I had to get ready to take HER to practice.  My daughter would beg me to take her to GK Icon training because SHE knew it improved her performance.  This kind of training is just not out there.  No cup nor club team we have been associated with could compare to GK Icon training.  Just the complete keeper training we are looking for and not associated with any club that could affect my daughter\'s training.  Absolutely amazing!  Thank you!!
ErikEisenhut
Unknown GK ICON: Pittsburgh

I wanted to reserve judgment on the GK Icon program until we were through the Winter session and I had an opportunity to see for myself how My daughter improved not only technically, but also in game situations. I can now say that the time she has spent with you has definitely improved her game. Most recently, she was invited to fill in for her club\\\'s U15 boys team for some friendlies at Spire. Although the results didn\\\'t go in our favor (two ties and a 3-2 loss), she played really well with a group of older boys and helped keep her team in the game. After one of the games, My daughter said one of the opposing coaches told her she was a \\\"beast.\\\"

We have tried to enroll her in GK training courses over the past several years and from my perspective, your training is one of the best. I watch as you explain technique to the keepers during the sessions and your encourage them throughout. I like the smaller groups since it provides more opportunities for one on one discussions rather than having someone get lost in a large group.

She has not only matured as a keeper over the Winter, both technically thanks to your training, but has also gained confidence in communicating with her teammates during games which I believe has to do with her having more confidence in her technical skills.

I hope we have a chance to have her work with you again in the future.

    Thank you!!

Henry is really enjoying the sessions and his confidence has come on leaps and bounds this season as a result. He picked up his third man of the match award this season on Sunday after a fantastic performance, the team won 2-1 coming from behind, and Henry pulled off a series of great blocks and saves in the second half as a result of his excellent positioning and commanding the box. Great stuff – keep up the great work in the sessions.

Erik began coaching my 13yr old daughter beginning this past winter season. My daughter opted to take private training 1 on 1 rather than the group training. That decision was the best decision money could buy. Erik is an incredibly knowledgeable goalkeeper coach. His ability to speak and relate to teens is phenomenal. I enjoy watching the way Erik interacts with his players. Erik has the ability to get his idea across in a way that is easily understood and interpreted by the player. He makes training fun and enjoyable to participate in. Kudos to Erik and GK Icon USA.

GK Icon Coventry Mindset Night 2016 GK ICON: Coventry
A big thank you to the 20 lads and all the parents that came along to the first ever GK Icon Coventry Mindset Night on 29th February! It was certainly a great insight and massive thanks to Richard Lee for taking time out of his schedule to come and meet the boys to discuss his experiences and providing the boys with some great tips for match preparation, dealing with things that only in their control, communicating with defence, being confident etc!

Based on the positive feedback received to date I hope to arrange further events similar to last night!! :)

Feedback from lads and parents:

\"We found it very good and informative, definitely worth while, can take a lot of positives from it\"

\"Curtis had come back motivated and enthusiastic about the presentation. He liked Richard and sounds like Curtis picked up some tips. Good night, thanks for organising it!\"

\"Really good mate Nathan was full of it when he got in telling his Mum all about it and the tips hes picked up mainly visualisation!\"

\"Harry gone to bed with his new book! Harry and I really enjoyed it. Very interesting and pitched at the right level. Good advice on positive thinking and imagery!\"

\"We both enjoyed enjoyed that mate, Lachie said he felt he got something out of it , as in the way he sometimes thinks during a game and after it with his confidence.

Think it has done him some good, cheers mate!\"

\"I personally found it extremely interesting both in a positive and negative way in that what we say to the boys can either make or break them. Kieran enjoyed it too and it highlights the emphasis what we all tell the boys that they are not too blame!

I really think the next one should be invited to coaches too!\"

\"Really good mate we both really enjoyed it\"

\"Thanks for arranging it. I found it very interesting. The boys came out and said they thought it was good\"

\"Good mate, boys are all about the imagery now!\"

All about Improving Goalkeepers!!! GK ICON: Coventry

My son Lachie has been working with Lee for about 10 months now.

Lachie had always been a talented keeper but from working with Lee he has gone up another level!

His confidence, positioning, commanding of his area and all round game play have really improved!

When opposing team managers are singling him out at the end of a game to praise his performance  (Which is happening a lot these days ) that puts a big smile on his face.

The big bonus though is Lachie enjoys the sessions with Lee , be it group sessions or 1on1 , he always looks forward to going to training each week.

\"We met Lee through our son\'s football team where he coaches the club\'s keepers. Our 7 year old now attends extra sessions with Lee on a regular basis!

Lee\'s approach to training is brilliant, he keeps my son\'s concentration and encourages him to enjoy the sessions with interesting and fun drills. He always takes time to explain things and has made a huge impact on our son\'s progress and confidence!

We are really pleased with what Lee has done and would recommend him to young keepers!\"

The group teacher, Richard, along with assistants Hayley and Matt could not have been more welcoming GK ICON: National

As a parent of a soon to be 3 year old girl, I like so many parents was faced with trying to think of ways to help her develop physically and mentally besides what mummy and daddy can teach her. My wife had been told about TinyTykes by another parent who also had a little girl that attended. She enquired and obtained the information and at first glance it looked to be football related but I wanted to give it a try. I couldn\'t have been more wrong.

The sessions whilst using a ball for many of the activities, teach balance, co-ordination and the ability to follow patterns and listen to instructions. The group teacher, Richard, along with assistants Hayley and Matt could not have been more welcoming and within the first few weeks my daughter was enjoying every minute of the one hour session and beginning to develop in many areas. The sessions helped her interact with other children, share and of course develop basic taken for granted skills such as catching and throwing. Importantly for me, it was something I could enjoy with my daughter, some quality time.

It was only recently that I passed comment to Richard that I was surprised more girls did not attend. As I write this, a couple more little girls have joined the group which I was pleased to see. I would strongly advocate that the sessions should not appeal to parents who just have boys. Games with bean bags, hoops and cones take these sessions beyond football related activities and I would recommend it to anyone.

Brotherly Fun! GK ICON: Coventry

\"Having known Lee for sometime I knew he had great credentials to be a coach. A couple of months ago my youngest decided he wanted to be a goalkeeper, I knew who to speak to straight away.

Lee has a way of making the learning and fun and interesting for all the boys he trains, so much so that my middle son also now attends sessions. I have seen a big improvement in my boys abilities already.

Lee also has some great contacts within local teams and is now down to Lee my youngest son is playing for a team and making new friends.

If you have a budding goalkeeper give Lee and GK Icon Coventry a go and watch them learning in a fun and safe environment!\"

Confidence is Key! GK ICON: Coventry

One Happy Twin!!! GK ICON: Coventry
Having recently formed an under 11s team and also being mum of the goalkeeper in my team, I soon realised I couldn\'t give my goalie the time or training that he needed. My level 1 football coaching didn\'t include goalkeeper coaching and I soon realised I knew nothing really about goalkeeping.

My son would be disappointed when he let goals in and no amount of my reassurance would make him feel any better. But I also didn\'t have the knowledge to help him improve either.

I noticed the GK Icon Coventry page on Facebook as a friend of mine has a son that attends, so decided to give it a go!
Lee was very helpful and accommodating towards my needs and their was flexibility in days that my son could attend, which helps me out loads as a mum of 3 and running a football team.

Tyler is not the most easily pleased child but on his first drink break of his first session he came over to me and said he enjoyed it and could he come back next week. At the end of the session I had a form to fill out at home but so did Tyler, this form was from Tylers point of view what he wanted from goalkeeper coaching etc, which I thought was good as it\'s the childs point of view not just the parents.

Tyler has been going to weekly sessions for 3 months now and really enjoys it, he has learnt a lot in this short space of time and always gives me details of what he\'s done that night at training. I see the improvement in him when he plays in matches, it has definitely improved his goalkeeping skills.

I asked Lee to have a chat with Tyler about the disappointment he feels when he lets a goal in, as anything I said to him went in one ear and out the other. After the chat Tyler seemed in better spirits and realised even the best keepers can\'t save them all. This chat also improved his confidence on match days and I wouldn\'t get the upset goalie that never wanted to play in goal again after he\'d conceded goals!

So a massive thanks to Lee for all his hard work and for running the goalkeeping sessions in a place where there seems to be extra clubs for outfielders to attend but not necessarily specialised goalkeeper training
LMcClay
Very Proud Parent of U6 Keeper GK ICON: Coventry

GK Icon Coventry has made all the difference to our 6 year old goalkeeper son. Not just in performance, where obviously he\'s come on leaps and bounds learning about key areas such as positioning, using his body, focusing and ball control making him not only an accomplished keeper, but more importantly, he\'s developed such confidence in his role and belief in his ability to do a great job as a keeper, which is fantastic!

This is credit to Lee who works individually with each pupil getting to know there likes, dislikes, strengths and weaknesses and adapting each coaching session to suit the needs of each child. Lee\'s patience, commitment and desire to bring the best out of my son, as a parent, has meant the world to me.

With this in mind, GK Icon Coventry stands head and shoulders above any other similar provider as its the coach for this company that makes the session unique by building up trust which leads to self belief which all go towards a great performance as a goalkeeper!

If you want your child to get ahead and develop as a goalkeeper but more importantly gain confidence, assertiveness and a can do attitude towards their role as a keeper, I would whole heartedly recommend booking a session with Lee at GK Icon Coventry.

\"Anthony is really enjoying the training. After every session, the first question I ask is \"did you have fun?\" and the answer is always \"yes\". To us that\'s the most important thing, that he enjoys his time training. And we do see significant improvement in his skills, as well as a huge improvement in his confidence level.  Prior to this past fall season, he had never played GK, let alone much in the way of soccer at all. He was thrown in as GK for his high school JV team based solely on the fact that his older brother is a GK as well as his younger brother. The coach assumed Anthony was one as well! He held his own, with a lot of extra help from his dad and I, as well as teammates. But the one thing he had trouble with is the GK mindset. As you know part of being a good GK is the mental aspect. He lacked that. We now see that he is quickly gaining the mentality needed to be a GK. Considering he is definitely the starting GK for fall 2016 on his high school team, we are so happy to see this improvement on all aspects of his training.\"

\"Erik, I wanted to give you a true testimonial.

Corey Dick was outstanding in goal tonight. He had to use everything you taught him in just four weeks, to help Avonworth to a win over a really good Sewickley Academy team.  Sewickley Academy won the state championship last year with most of the kids on the field tonight.

Most of the credit goes to him. He worked hard all year, was thrust into a crazy situation and stepped up. He is an amazing athlete and deserves credit for it, BUT you certainly influenced him enough in four sessions that it gave him confidence in his natural talent and added some great technique.

Thank you!\"

U16 GK Icon Coventry Experience GK ICON: Coventry

At the start Nathan thought Lee would chat more than teach. As the sessions progressed, Nathan could appreciate that the chats were for a reason, so that young keepers like Nathan can learn.

Since the training has developed and the group of u16 keepers has increased, Nathan has really started to enjoy the training ( as he says with more keepers being trained, he gets a little rest - old age must be a terrible thing !!)

As he trains regularly with Charlie and Scott it adds an element of competition to the training and he enjoys the social side of it too, as they often push each other to do better.

Overall a great experience, and something that Nathan would encourage all young keepers to participate in.

Happy to Work with All Abilities! GK ICON: Coventry
My son Josh age 7 had never really kicked a ball before but wanted to be a goalkeeper he told me. A friend of mine put me in touch with Lee from GK Icon Coventry. It\'s been about 8 weeks now of 1-1 sessions once a week and Lee\'s excellent coaching has brought Josh on so much. We are proud of how far he has come, can\'t thank Lee enough.

One Happy Parent and U7 Keeper! GK ICON: Coventry

I think Jacob\'s been training with Lee for about 9 months and he\'s come on leaps and bounds.Any kid who\'s interested in goalkeeping I would definitely recommend training with Lee.

The difference in my child\'s ability in that short space of time is incredible.

Lee is also great with the kids and they always enjoy themselves which is why I think he\'s progressed so well.

Mark Deluse GK ICON: Pittsburgh
  1. I have had the pleasure of knowing Erik since the time he played for me at the high school level. Even then, Erik was like having a coach on the field - taking a leadership role and gaining respect of his team and coaches.  He has continued on that path throughout his life. A man of integrity and with the purpose of making people better through teaching and coaching.                                                                                                                                Mark Deluse, Hanover High School Soccer Coach

  1. Erik is passionate about goalkeeping and very committed and loyal to everything he devotes himself to. I had the pleasure of playing with him in the Cooler League in Massachusetts and although he had trouble saving my chip shots, he showed himself as a man of high character. I believe he will make a positive impact on people\'s lives as a goalkeeping coach.

Physical development rocketed to 95% TINYTYKES: Mid Hertfordshire

TinyTykes instil a culture of sport in our youngest children which I am sure will stay with them for life. The coaching is jam-packed with fun and is good value for money. It is always tremendously positive with children enjoying every minute. Following 3 terms of coaching, our Reception children’s physical development rocketed from 59% of children meeting age-related expectations to 95%!

Craig has been coaching our son for only a few months, and has already restored his confidence and self belief.

Since Craig has been coaching our son, he has already been asked to attend trails for the Schools district team and has been scouted for a Surrey Youth Elite club.  This could not of happened without Craig’s expertise and coaching skills.

He works with our son on a one to one basis and covers all aspects of goal keeping:

· Strengths and weaknesses

· Positioning on the goal line

· Angles “ tight angles” and lower angles

· Taking ownership/control of the penalty box

· Talking/shouting/communication with defenders

· Shot stopping, long and short range

· Correct catching techniques

· Distribution of the ball with long accurate throws

· Judging whether to stay or come off the goal line

· Goal keeper warm ups

· Foot work – side stepping between cones

· Diving techniques

· How to stay big and reduce the target for the attackers

· Practice kicking the ball with both feet

· Taking time to pick out the pass

· Distributing the ball from the edge of the penalty area

· Making a save and getting back onto your feet quickly

The Three Amigo\\\'s GK ICON: Coventry

Lee and GK Icon have been a tremendous help in developing the three keepers in our squad. They have helped all three of them gain a better command of key basic techniques and develop a good appreciation of the penalty area. As a result one of the most notable improvements has been the difference it has made to their decision making. But the biggest change is the confidence it gives them all. The sessions are tailored specifically for the needs of our keepers and it is an ongoing programme to continue their development. The results have been impressive and our keepers enjoy it so much that they keep asking if we can have more dedicated sessions with GK Icon, so we might look to some one-to-one tuition over the summer break. I would without hesitation recommend GK Icon, whatever level your keepers are at they can develop a specific programme to work on developmental needs. Keep up the great work.

I think Lee is excellent with the children, and my son has improved as a goalkeeper since coming training with you.

His skills have improved, especially closing down angles, and being more confident in catching the ball.

I know he\\\'s only been coming for a short time, but in his first six months of playing, he received parents player of the year.

When I attend, I see that you have a great relationship with the keepers, and they seem to respond well to you.

Oliver\'s Story - U8 Keeper GK ICON: Coventry

Oliver\'s Story.

Oliver joined his local team\'s Saturday club as a class friend went. Oliver was not an all-rounder and week by week he would drift nearer to the back line and, eventually, declared his preference for goalkeeping.

Summer 2014 saw the selection of the U8 team. A boy known to the coach from another U7 team, who had been an outfielder, wanted the keeper position. Oliver had no match experience and, when given an opportunity, he panicked badly. The other boy was really good and Oliver was offered the role of stand-by.

Over the summer break Oliver was made aware of a new team being formed that needed a keeper. Oliver was invited along. The try-out went well and Oliver joined this new team.

To start with the games were too easy and Oliver had little to do. He got match time but wasn\'t heavily involved.

The too easy start gave the impression that the team were better than perhaps they were. The next set of matches were much harder and defeat followed defeat. Oliver\'s rudimentary skills were shown up and at Christmas stock was taken and a message sent to Lee at GK Icon in Coventry. Help was needed.

Oliver went for a Tuesday evening taster session in a group. Even just throwing and catching was the first dedicated training and he loved it. His confidence was still a concern - he can either be woefully unsure or supremely over confident. In a second evening session Oliver got upset when he didn\'t need to.

Fortunately Lee understood immediately and suggested individual sessions on a Sunday, which are great and allows Oliver the chance to make positive and/or negative issues clear but away from public glare.

His game play has improved massively. His team has recently recorded better results and a couple of weeks back to see all 5 players (including Oliver) jumping up and down at the end of a winning match was fantastic to see.

Oliver has won one man of the match award and recently came a close second. His team manager has written that Oliver\'s goalkeeping \"is improving and he is becoming more focused and disciplined.\"

Last week, when Oliver was unable to play due to another commitment, his team manager noted in the match report that Oliver had been missed.

Oliver clearly has the ability to do well as a goalkeeper. The important issue is keeping him focused and, in Lee, I believe that we have found a coach that understands what makes Oliver tick and will be able to get the best out of him.

Fun & Positive Learning Environment GK ICON: Coventry

Lee has worked with my two sons & my nephew for a number of months now. All of them have progressed in ability as keepers since joining GK Icon & Lee even helped one of my sons find a club, but more importantly they all thoroughly enjoy his sessions.

Having attended a number of other goalkeeper sessions, we found they either offered a good level of coaching but not much fun, or they offered too much fun and not a good enough level of coaching! Lee manages to find the perfect balance , offering quality sessions, while keeping a positive energy!

Parent of U13 Keeper GK ICON: Coventry

Nathan joined Lee at gkicon about 18 months ago and has never looked back; Nathan was something of an accidental goal keeper, stepping in to help his brother’s team out on the odd occasion that the keeper wasn’t available. As he seemed to enjoy being a goalie we decided to sign him up for some coaching, we found Lee and he gave us a taster session and Nathan was hooked. I have watched him go from being the big kid who goes in goal to being an accomplished goal keeper who now is first choice for his Sunday side and his school. Lee has brought out the confidence in him and has given him the technical ability to become a very good keeper, most weeks now his coach and the parents on the side line are singing his praises about a save he made or a good clearing kick he has made. I have watched Lee coach his kids and he covers all aspects of the game so not only has Nathan’s handling, kicking and ground work come on a long way but Nathan has a very good understanding of what is required of a goalie and has become a good reader of the game. I and certainly Nathan would recommend gkicon very highly, Nathan enjoys the sessions a lot and it is very evident on a Sunday morning that they are paying dividends in Nathan’s game

U13 Manager Experience of GK Icon Coventry GK ICON: Coventry

We enlisted Lee to help our new and very inexperienced Goalkeeper to find his feet (or hands) and confidence. Lee has, within a very short time provided this in abundance. Our keeper now looks like he\'s been between the sticks for years, not months. More importantly, he brings the confidence and learning Lee has provided to the game - which has literally saved us on many occasion!

The group teacher, Richard, along with assistants Hayley and Matt could not have been more welcoming TINYTYKES: National

As parents we have been really impressed with the organisation and delivery of the GK Icon football GK ICON: National

As parents we have been really impressed with the organisation and delivery of the GK Icon football programme.  We are new to football, but not to sport so to see another sport delivered and delivered so well is great.

Rich is extremely organised and we receive communication each week re the different themes for the sessions plus extra training opportunities.

Dean the coach for my son\'s squad is excellent, he teaches for the full hour and has a great mix of teaching styles which completely captivate the boys.  Our son refers to the Friday evening slot as the session where he learns the most!

Hope that is on the right lines.  Thank you for all your hard work, Pedro loves the sessions with Dean.

highly recommend GK Icon to any young goalkeeper. GK ICON: National
I attended GK Icon from the start until 2014 and it has allowed me to improve in

Footwork, positioning and agility is vastly improved GK ICON: National
Since starting training with GK icon and Mark Philips my son has improved his game, technique and confidence no end. His footwork, positioning and agility is vastly improved as is his kicking off the ground which was non-existent! After only a couple of sessions and practice he is kicking consistently and is not phased as he was before. Mark provides entertaining and fun sessions catering for all age groups in the session.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Rich and the GK Icon team to any novice or more experienced goalkeepers of any age. Thanks guys.

Improved both his skill and confidence GK ICON: National
GK Icon has helped Dan improve both his skill and confidence in just a few months of attending your Watford session. He\\\'s now happy to dive without worrying about landing badly, his reactions have improved, he can kick over a great distance with accuracy and has become more authoritative on the pitch. The position of goalkeeper is often over looked in weekly team training sessions even though in our opinion it\\\'s one of the most important positions on the pitch, and the unique set up of GK Icon allows young keepers to improve skills, fitness and confidence coached by professional goalkeepers in a safe environment. Dan is often complimented after a match for his great keeping by both his team and also by the opposition parents and coaches.  He has also conceded the least goals in his league all thanks to his sessions with Mikhael and GK Icon. Thank you! Dan and Kim

I would highly recommend GK Icon GK ICON: National

I would highly recommend GK Icon to any young and aspiring goalkeepers. My son has attended sessions in two different venues and has had the benefit of being trained by a variety of expert Coaches, all who have had plenty of experience being involved with professional clubs and even had successful careers as players or coaches.

Every session my son learns something new and can then use these new techniques in his game on a Sunday. His own performances have improved so much because of this expert coaching in a friendly and supportive environment. Another reason to join GK Icon is because of the links to the professional game. There are frequent coaching sessions where professional keepers attend and the youngsters get the chance for more advice and can ask questions and get advice from the pros; also, these links are very real as my son attended a trial with a professional club as a result of correspondence from GK Icon and has been invited back for more training sessions which is of course testament to how much he has learned, but also shows that hard work and dedication will pay off over time if you work hard at your game!

Just had another great TinyTykes session in Nottingham with my son Max and have to pass on my appreciation of Coach Derrick. Your recruitment process seems brilliant - Derrick is enthusiastic, without being overbearing, obviously experienced and pays attention to detail regarding H&S and safeguarding. I will be recommending your sessions to everyone I know with children.

We have been extremely pleased with the support that Lee has given our son during his goalie training sessions.

Lee is as flexible and accommodating as his own diary allows with regards to individual sessions, which is a great help. Lee has identified where our son requires training and support and communicates well with us as parents to ask for anything else we are looking for.

We have seen our sons skill level and knowledge increase and his confidence has grown which is fantastic. Lee speaks to our son with respect and patience…above all our son has fun and looks forward to the sessions with Lee

How have you found your experience with GK Icon Coventry to date:

Keeper

‘I love my sessions with Lee, he is very kind and understanding and lets you have fun while you are training instead of being too strict, I have learnt a lot and enjoy it’

Parents

Lee has been extremely motivating and encouraging and has helped our son with his goalkeeping skills and more importantly for me, his self confidence. His support and genuine interest in his games and performance have been very much welcomed and appreciated.

Jack Burton GK ICON: Mid Sussex
Jack has been attending the sessions at Shoreham for about 8 months now, and I have seen a major improvement in him in terms of technique and physical ability. He recently attended a summer soccer camp with Brighton and Hove Albion and one of the coaches there remembered him from last year. As he left for the day the coach commented what a massive improvement he had made from last year which made Jack really happy. This is all down to the great coaching that he has received from Darren and we fully intend to carry on with GK Icon as a result.
